How to write an internship report if there wasn’t enough time for the internship

prakses atskaiti

If you spent only a short time at your internship and didn’t gain much hands-on experience. You can still write a practice report by making the most of the information available. Start with an overview of the organization where you did your practice. Describe the company or institution (its industry, structure, main activities) to provide context. Next, outline the tasks or projects that were planned for you during the practice. Even if you couldn’t complete them, explain what you observed at the workplace and what those tasks typically involve. Fill in the gaps with theoretical knowledge.

Describe how such tasks are usually carried out in theory, based on what you learned in your studies. Try to gather extra details from any available sources. For example, company materials (like an orientation handbook or reports). Information from your supervisor or colleagues, or publicly available data about the company. And include those details to enrich your report. Emphasize what you did manage to learn or notice, and connect these points to your academic knowledge.

In the conclusion, mention any insights or skills you gained and acknowledge the limitations caused by the short duration of the practice. The key is to demonstrate an understanding of how the professional environment functions. And to link it to theoretical concepts, even if your personal experience was limited. If needed, seek feedback from your practice supervisor or an instructor to ensure your report meets the requirements.
